Background

My path into product and design didn't follow a conventional route. At twelve years old, I taught myself web development by reverse-engineering sites I admired — dismantling the code to understand how the experience was constructed. In high school I went further, taking computer programming classes in HTML and Visual Basic while simultaneously earning college credits through Cisco Networking Academy coursework at a nearby campus — an early signal of the technical aptitude that would define the work ahead.

After graduating from high school, I attended college, pivoting away from computer networking to pursue a degree in Television and Video Production, quickly gravitating toward post-production and motion graphics. That path brought me to Deluxe Digital Studios, where I developed interactive Blu-ray and mobile experiences for major studio clients. It was there that I discovered the work of Jon Lax and Geoff Teehan — reading their company blog and finding myself drawn to their research and the idea that putting an emphasis on user experience first resulted in better products. That philosophy reframed everything I was doing and set me on a course toward UX and interface design.

Having read extensively on what was now being formally referred to as UX, I explored a number of certification paths. With a demanding work schedule, the Nielsen Norman Group's flexible course structure proved the right fit — and I committed fully, ultimately earning a UX Master Certification.

That pivot led me to KARL STORZ Endoscopy, where I designed modular interfaces for surgical imaging systems — work precise enough to result in three internationally registered design patents. I was subsequently recruited by Disney to join their international marketing team, where I designed and served as Product Manager for a marketing site housing Disney's catalog of titles and media assets for global distribution — collectively spanning over three million assets. I later transitioned into managing Disney Entertainment Television's network of press sites, leading the integration of National Geographic and Hulu Originals into the broader Disney Entertainment Television press platform.

Today I work at the intersection of product strategy, AI implementation, and design — building the tools, systems, and platforms that move organizations forward.
